Climate change is approaching rapidly, and it is a threat to each and every one of us. Our ecosystems are collapsing. Our food supply is decreasing. Our people are being poisoned in their neighborhoods. Others are being forced to flee their lands. Fighting climate change is a matter of social justice. Here's how you can help.
One more thing to note: according to a study, 71 percent of carbon emissions come from just 100 companies. The vast majority of climate activism must center policy, economic and corporate change; while there are personal moves that everyone can make to reduce their individual carbon footprints, a sustainable lifestyle is also not possible for many. If you can't complete some of the items on the list above, that's okay.

- Educate yourself about the crisis and the role you play in it.
- Use less waste to reduce your carbon footprint.
- Eat more sustainably.
- Walk, bike and use public transportation.
- Contact your elected representatives and demand that they support a Green New Deal.
- Find and sign petitions for the climate.
- Attend a climate strike or protest in your area.
- Volunteer with an organization to clean up the environment or elect climate candidates.
- Vote with your dollar! Support companies that support the climate.
- Move away from fast fashion! Buy less clothing or buy sustainable/secondhand.
- Join an organization like the Sunrise Movement or This Is Zero Hour.
- Donate to organizations like Greenpeace.
- Always be intersectional in your activism.
